The owners have a real vision and their care for the environment really stands out in a country where plastic bottles are such a problem. The food is amazing. I recommend the large prawns with mashed potato which is one of the best things I have ever eaten. The pool is lovely. The rooms are comfortable."

"First review I’m making - but it’s a unicorn so couldn’t not. Incredible value for money; accommodation is cosy, clean and beach huts have great views. At least, or even more important, is the hospitality and customer focus of the 2 owners, Shibi and Dinesh. They care about what they do and are great human beings. "We had an excellent stay at Dinesh & Shibi’s place! The location is very peaceful, authentic, and beautiful. The pool is clean and really enjoyable. The room is perfect, with a private bathroom outside. Taking a shower in the sunshine was such a lovely experience. The shower gel that smelled like holidays was the cherry on top. Breakfast is generous and delicious. We also chose to have dinner at the camp in the evenings, and it was perfect. The fish was exquisite, and finishing with a cinnamon tea was just ideal. Overall, we ate extremely well. All the staff are super friendly and attentive. It’s truly the perfect chill spot for kitesurfing. Thank you so much, Dinesh, for being such a welcoming host. If we travel to Sri Lanka again, we will definitely come back."

"What a beautiful setting in Kalpitiya, Anawasal is magical haven! The cabanas give you enough space and privacy whilst the central chillout zone allows you to socialise and enjoy the amazing breakfasts and Sri Lankan curries for lunch/dinner! The bikes, kayak, paddle boards and swimming pool are an added bonus - we absolutely loved taking these out to explore the lagoon. Shibi, Dhinesh and all the wonderful staff make you feel at home, safe and welcomed, like a part of a family. We kitesurfed next door at Rascals every day which was awesome, and enjoyed two of Shibi’s yoga classes on the deck on the lagoon. Shibi helped to organise so many logistics for us to get there and for our onward journey. We are so grateful to have found this beautiful place with such wonderful people."

"Fantastic location and incredibly friendly and helpful staff. We stayed for three nights at the end of a hectic tour of Sri Lanka and were able to relax. The location is a somewhat remote and the lagoon is not suitable for swimming but there was a complimentary paddle board and kayak and you could also arrange a boat to a beach and mangrove tour."

They treated us with a perfect balance between giving us privacy and space to relax while being attentive to our needs, felt like home in the best way! Gorgeous location and facilities in peaceful surroundings, delicious local food, great yoga on the jetty. Great place for kitesurfing, the free boat transfer as well as the paid trips to different kite spots with the place best door works smoothly. We were only supposed to stay here 5 nights, but have decided to come back for an extra 4 nights at the end of our trip. The highest of reccomendatons from us! Do NOT miss out on this slice of paradise!"

"Wow! Just spent 3 nights here. FANTASTIC hosts, staff, food and location! I had 3 yoga lessons. Shivi is an EXCELLENT teacher - yoga at sunset on a jetty over a lagoon was magical. Every meal was DELICIOUS! Wonderful staff. The cabana was clean and comfortable facing the lagoon. Really didn't want to leave. Thoroughly recommend!"
